Rom 1:18-32  “Godless Living”

Romans: The Grip of  Grace, 1:18-32

I. Love is always angry at evil

A. Disobedience leads to destruction of ourselves and others

B. “The punishment of sin is sin” Augustine

C. It is God’s wrath that allows us to continue in our sin

D. It is God’s grace that delivers us from our sin

II. Godlessness and Wickedness

A. What may be known about God has been made plain to them

B. They suppress the Truth

C. Lack of knowledge is not the problem for the wicked

III. All Men are Without Excuse

A. What about the “innocent native” in Africa?

B. The Heavens declare the Glory of God (Ps 19:1-4a)

IV. Therefore, God let them continue to their physical/spiritual destruction

A. They exchanged the Truth of God for a Lie

B. They worshiped the created things rather than their Creator!

V. The Truth of God?

A. v 28-32 describes every one of us, totally depraved (yes, you)

B. We were not good people – BUT, while we were still sinners…

C. Glory Hallelujah, what a God, what a Savior, I will worship Him
